On April 27-28, 2010, join your fellow case management professionals from across the country as they educate Congress on the importance of case management to the effective delivery of healthcare. Learn how to use your local grassroots networks for legislative success and network with CMSA’s Public Policy leaders.
The event is open to any CMSA member, staff person or volunteer who is passionate about association issues and wants to make a difference, as well as meet and network with fellow advocates from across the country. Registration is only $199.

Workshop Agenda
The full-day education session April 27th will help CM professionals develop or improve their own grassroots initiatives through the latest tips and techniques from experts in the field.
Attendees will go to Capitol Hill with fellow CM professionals from CMSA’s Public Policy Committee on April 28th to share CMSA’s educational messages and demonstrate how every member can help advance case management.

Workshop Objectives and Continuing Education
This event will guide participants through the legislative process while helping them to achieve the following:
- Evaluate current health care issues and concerns being addressed at the Federal level.
- Define the Legislative Process.
- Provide tools and resources for legislative discussions.
- Educate Case Managers on their role in the legislative process.
- Discuss the CM Model Act and how it can be utilized by legislators.
Continuing education for this workshop has been applied for the following certifications:
- Nursing: This program will offer up to 9.90 50-minute clock hours.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM): Seeking approval for 8.25 clock hours.
- NASW: Seeking approval from the National Association of Social Workers for 8.25 (60-min) contact hours.
