Recent Award Recipient

The Award of Service Excellence award recipient for 2008 is Elaine Miller, MSN, RN, BC, of San Antonio, TX. Since 2002, Miller has acted as a nurse case manager in cardiology/pulmonary critical care at University Hospital in San Antonio, where one colleague described her as, "... clearly head-and-shoulders above any case manager I've ever met before!" Miller has served as a clinical preceptor and skills-lab instructor, developed and facilitated nursing, nutrition, ethics, and home health courses, and has written several nationally published articles on subjects ranging from obesity and home health to diabetes nutritional support and wound healing. She has been a CMSA member since 2000 and is involved in her community through the CMSA Alamo Chapters as a charter members and director of education and through providing "Prep for Success" case management exam courses.
