Bottorff, Michael B., PharmD is professor of clinical pharmacy in the division of pharmacy practice at the University Of Cincinnati College Of Pharmacy in Cincinnati, Ohio. After earning his doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Dr. Bottorff completed his pharmacy residency there, serving as chief resident. Dr. Bottorff’s research interests have focused on the clinical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of cardiovascular drugs, and he has served as principal or co-principal investigator on various clinical trials. He has presented both nationally and internationally on such topics as drug therapy for acute coronary syndrome patients, management of dyslipidemias, understanding and predicting clinically important drug-drug interactions, and new strategies for managing hypertension. Dr. Bottorff is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Lipidology, and Cardiology Review. He is also a reviewer for The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Archives of Cardiology, among others. He has published over 75 original research articles, book chapters, and refereed reviews, along with over 50 research abstracts. Dr. Bottorff is a member of the American Heart Association, and a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. He has also served as Chairman of the National Pharmacy Cardiovascular Council and was recently certified as a Clinical Lipid Specialist. Dr. Bottorff is a recognized cardio-therapeutics specialist and currently rounds on the in-patient coronary care service at University Hospital in Cincinnati. He helps implement guideline-based therapies and served on the first national panel to develop guidelines for the management of heart failure.
