Skinner, Nancy, RN, CCM, has a background in acute care, home health and subacute nursing. In 1984, she accepted her first case management position and has served as a case manager, case management supervisor and national case management trainer. Ms. Skinner currently serves as Principal Consultant for Riverside HealthCare Consulting. In her role at Riverside HealthCare Consulting, Ms. Skinner develops programs for payers and providers, which reflect the state of the science of case management and other related medical management strategies. She has served as President of the Case Management Society of America, and Secretary of the Case Management Society International. She was recognized as the 1998 Illinois Case Manager of the Year and the 2002 CMSA National Case Manager of the Year. She has presented at numerous national and international conferences and has published articles in both The Journal of CareManagement and Inside Case Management. Ms. Skinner is the creator and author of seven Case Management Resource Paths. These Paths address disease specific topics including Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, hemophilia, venous thromboembolic disease, airways clearance, hepatitis C, and gastroesophageal reflux disorder. Ms. Skinner has also served on several case management advisory boards including the Commission/URAC Case Management Advisory Committee, CCMA Core Task Force, CDC Case Management External Workgroup, and the National Managed Healthcare Conference. She serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member for the University of Southern Indiana Case Management Program and assisted in the development of the University of St. Francis Case Management Certificate Program.
