Moreo, Kathleen, RN, BSN, BHSA, CCM, Cm, CDMS is President and COO of PRIME®, a national full-service medical education company providing CME/CE since 1994. She has more than 25 years experience as a nationally recognized speaker and author in issues pertaining to case management, disability management and health care business management. She is a cum laude graduate of Barry University, Miami, Florida, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in health services administration. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and holds both nationally recognized case management certifications – CCM through the Commission for Case Manager Certification and a Cm through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also holds national certification as a disability management specialist.
Moreo has extensive case management leadership. She was awarded 2001 Case Manager of the Year by the Case Management Society of America (CMSA). She is co-author of the 2001 and the 2005 Updated Case Management Review and Resource Manual: The Essence of Case Management by the American Nurses Association (ANA). She is co-author of the update to the CMSA Standards of Practice for Case Managers and served as co-chair of the CMSA Standards of Practice Update Task Force. She is co-author of the CMSA Consensus Paper, Exploring Best Practices in Physician and Case Management Collaboration to Improve Patient Care, with David Nash, MD, MBA, FACP. She is a national past president of the Case Management Society of America and past chair of the Case Management Society International. She is a past commissioner for the Commission for Case Manager Certification. In 1999, Moreo was selected by the People to People Ambassador Program and the ANA to introduce US-based case management models to health care leaders in China.
Moreo currently serves as a Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy. She is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP); the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education and the North American Association of Medical Education and Communication Companies (NAAMECC).
