Susan E. Gaca, BSN, MBA, is Vice President of Medical Management Operations and leads Care Allies and CIGNA's Health Facilitation Center operations, which delivers utilization management and case management programs to more than 11 million members. Ms. Gaca joined CIGNA in 1997 as the Vice President of Medical Economics for CIGNA Healthcare of Illinois, where she was responsible for medical cost analysis and reporting. She held the position of Midwest Region Finance Officer for CIGNA from 1999 through 2002, and was responsible for membership, revenue, expense, and medical cost analysis for five markets. She also served as a national Medical Action Planning officer from 2002 through 2006.

Prior to joining CIGNA, Ms. Gaca worked as the Director of Medical Management and Contracting for Pacificare in Chicago, Illinois, where she was responsible for all aspects of medical management, quality management, credentialing, and contracting for a 60,000 member healthplan. She was also Manager of Health Services for United Healthcare in Chicago, overseeing onsite and telephonic utilization management. Ms. Gaca holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Benedictine University, and a Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing from the University of Portland.
