Chris Herman, MSW, LICSW, is the Senior Practice Associate for Aging at the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and leads NASW’s Aging Initiative. She is responsible for aging policy analysis, resource and product development, and management of a variety of aging-related projects. She has over 10 years’ professional social work experience in aging, and chronic and terminal illness--providing psychosocial services and care management to culturally diverse populations in a variety of care settings. She also has experience in grant management, program development, and volunteer coordination. Ms. Herman serves as NASW liaison to the Leadership Council of Aging Organizations, the National Citizens Coalition for Nursing Reform (NCCNHR)’s Quality Care Campaign, and the Center for Excellence in Assisted Living. She has a BA in psychology and an MSW with a concentration in clinical social work with adults—health and mental health, and is a licensed clinical social worker.
