Margaret (Peggy) Leonard, MS, RN, C, FNP, CM, is Vice President for Clinical services at Hudson Health Plan, (HHP) a non-profit managed care organization based in New York.
Nationally recognized for her work in case management, certification, transitions of care, models of care, and motivational interviewing, she is the recipient of CMSA’s 2006 Case Manager of the Year (CMOY) Award.
A published author and producer/co-host of a national award-winning radio program, Margaret served on CMSA’s National Board of Directors for four years and chairs it’s Public Policy Committee.
She has been active in the legislative arena for more than 20 years with ANA, NYSNA, National Women’s Political Caucus, and as a politics instructor at the College of New Rochelle.
Margaret is also involved in HHP’s Supporting Excellence Program (SE), which is a provider quality incentive pay for performance program designed to assist providers with reports and tools they need to provide quality cost-effective care to HHP members. A major consideration of this program is office/care delivery system redesign to include electronic record keeping. HHP is a collaborator on one of the CMS RHIO projects and 2 statewide Information System Interoperability P4P Grants funded by NYS.
