Thomas Wilson, PhD, MPH, DrPH, is a nationally known epidemiologist specializing in the evidence-based design and evaluation of defined population health programs and products. These population health interventions include: disease management, case management, wellness, payment-for-performance programs, predictive algorithms, and electronic medical records.
Dr. Wilson is the principal of Trajectory(r) Healthcare, LLC-- a strategic epidemiologic consultancy firm. The firm has provided epidemiologic services to the federal Medicare program, State Medicaid Agencies, health plans, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, private foundations, care management vendors, and employer groups. Dr. Wilson is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Health and Productivity.
He is also the Founder and Board Chair of the Population Heath Impact Institute (www.PHIinstitute.org), a non-profit organization advocating for credible, independent, and transparent evaluations of organized population health management programs. The PHI Institute has been awarded grants from the Health Industry Forum at Brandeis University and the Institute for Health and Productivity Management.
He publishes widely, and is a frequent presenter at national meetings. Dr. Wilson received his doctorate in Epidemiology from UCLA, and was formerly on the faculty at Columbia University School of Public Health.
He is also a frequent speaker at national meetings on the uses of evaluation for care management program improvement and program impact.
