Margaret Moore, BS, MBA, is an entrepreneur and 17-year veteran of the biotechnology industry in the UK, France, Canada, and the USA. She served in executive marketing and business development roles in two multinational pharmaceutical companies (now part of AstraZeneca and Aventis); and as COO and CEO of two biotechnology companies, including the launch of a cancer biotechnology company that merged with publicly traded Medigene AG (Germany) in 2001.
Margaret is the founder and CEO of Wellcoaches Corporation (strategic partner of the American College of Sports Medicine), which is building the new professions of health coach, fitness coach, and wellness coach. Wellness coaches energize and support people to master health and well-being; fitness coaches help people master a fit lifestyle; and health coaches help people manage medical conditions.
The company’s coach training school has trained 2,000 physical and mental health professionals as health, fitness, or wellness coaches in the past four years. Margaret’s collaboration with Edward Phillips, MD, Assistant Professor, Harvard Medical School to create an online CME program is leading to the launch of the Institute of Lifestyle Medicine at Spaulding/Harvard Medical School (www.institutelifestylemedicine.net), of which Margaret is a founding advisor.
Wellcoaches partners to deliver wellness coaching services to consumers (Aspen Club), corporations - Employee Assistance Coaching or EAC® (Wells Fargo), and health clubs.
