Cristina Walter, MS, RN-BC, CCM, CCP, as a Regional Operations Director for DaVita Village Health, she is responsible for overseeing the overall management of the Renal Patient Management Program in Ohio, VA, and the DC markets. Working in the Medicare special needs plan, Cristina provides leadership and direction to assure safe, efficient, therapeutic, and ethical patient care.

As previous manager for Precision Rx Specialty, Cristina was responsible for establishing a best practicing medication adherence program for WellPoint, Inc.     

Cristina’s experience at Anthem included the development, implementation, and evaluation of targeted care management programs for Anthem’s Care Counselor Program. This program originated as a pilot project to study the outcomes of a proactive, advanced model of case management. The success of the original pilot has led to the expansion of the Care Counselor program as a core medical management strategy at Anthem.      

Prior to coming to Precision Rx Specialty and Anthem Care Counselor, Cristina worked as a Transplant Nurse Case Manager in the Anthem Midwest Transplant department. Cristina also has a unique background in workers’ compensation case management, both self-insured and state claims.

Cristina has presented to national audiences from the managed care, case management, disease management, and academia on topics ranging from motivational interviewing to medication adherence.
