B.K. Kizziar is a Registered Nurse, Certified Case Manager and Certified Life Care Planner. As a Professional Registered Nurse she specialized in trauma and worked in the emergency departments of several major trauma centers. BK began her case management career in 1982. Since that time she has been Director of Case Management and Brain Injury Program Director at a premier rehab facility, Director of Case Management for a national managed care company, Associate Vice President of Case Management for a national long term acute care hospital company and currently has her own case management consulting firm, BK and Associates. The company specializes in customized case management program model development for hospitals and payors. As a Life Care Planner, she consults with both plaintiff and defense, specializing in persistent vegetative state cases. BK also manages a private caseload of healthcare management clients.

Named DFW CMSA’s Case Manager of the Year, BK is very active in case management education. She is currently the Executive Director and a Past President of the Dallas Ft Worth Chapter of the Case Management Society of America, one of the largest chapters in the country. She is a current member of the national CMSA Education Committee, the Endorsement Task Force for case management educational materials and was part of a national executive committee to review and revise the case management Standards of Practice in 2002 and chaired the 2003 national CMSA Case Manager of the Year Committee. Speaking frequently on case management at regional and national levels, she is published in professional journals, sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of “Case Management Advisor” and is completing a case management textbook.

BK lives in Southlake, Texas with her husband Terry Greer and a “sweetie-pie” yellow lab. Creating stained glass art is her favorite pastime.
