Wound healing is not just wet to moist therapy and dressing changes, but there is a science involved in the wound healing process. Case Managers will be educated on the various phases of wound healing and what must occur during these phases in order to achieve desired outcomes. There will also be discussions about an advanced wound healing methodology and how early application of NPWT has been shown to impact a health care providers clinical and financial results for various wound types in multiple care settings.
Objectives:
- Review the major phases of wound healing- What must occur during these phases in order to achieve desired outcomes and what distinguishes acute versus chronic wound healing.
- Discuss the specific advantages of using NPWT as an advanced wound healing methodology.
- Explain how early application of NPWT in appropriate patients has been shown to impact outcomes, clinical and financial, for various would types in multiple care settings.
