This interactive Panelist Presentation is designed to provide attendees with an opportunity for an exchange of ideas pertaining to best practices in case managing cancer patients. Scientific evidence presented by the oncologist will focus on treatment and management options in colorectal and breast cancer, with a focus on adherence. The nurse case managers will present strategies to advocate for breast and colorectal cancer patients to ensure appropriate management. Discussion of current and emerging treatment options, including oral chemotherapy will be included in the adherence section of the presentation. Effective adherence strategies will include the CMAG Guidelines, which are the official guidelines for medication adherence developed by the Case Management Society of America.
Objectives:
- Identify successful advocacy in breast and colorectal cancer through the eyes of case management leaders sharing professional and personal cancer survivor journeys.
- Differentiate effective treatment and management of metastatic breast cancer and colorectal cancer through evidence and best practices.
- Assess therapeutic options to promote adherence in metastatic colorectal and breast cancer, and the application of the CMAG guidelines for effective adherence management.
