There is a growing body of evidence regarding the clinical and cost effectiveness of biologic therapy to treat, cure or prevent related disease pathologies. Pivotal clinical trials involving related disease pathologies such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis have demonstrated evidence of efficacy that is changing current therapeutic approaches to treatment and management.
While biologic therapy has become an accepted part of treatment for related disease pathologies, case managers are still learning how to best manage their use in patients with moderate to severe disease. This symposium will provide adult learning at its best as case managers experience real patient encounters and watch clinical case studies come to life in the areas of psoriatic disease and rheumatoid arthritis.
Objectives:
- Assess the ever-expanding use of biologic therapies in immune-mediated diseases.
- Assimilate outcomes of treatment selection for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and chronic plaque psoriasis through live patient encounters.
- Compare strategies for management of patients with immune-mediated inflammatory disease among similar health care organizations and practice settings.
- Assess relative potential benefits of emerging biologic therapies in addressing unmet therapeutic needs in patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.
