Title: Collaboration + P4P + CMAG: "Could This Be A Recipe for Success?"
Date: Friday, June 20, 2008
Time: 02:30 PM - 04:00 PM
Type: CONCURRENT
Level: INTERMEDIATE
Track: Treatment Adherence
Sponsor(s): -
Speaker(s): Margaret "Peggy" Ann Leonard

In this session, you will learn how a Medicaid Managed Care Plan improved their HEDIS scores by using the following recipe:

  • One cup of collaboration--with providers, vendors, leaders in the healthcare community, and the state Department of Health,

Add:

  • A dash of "Supporting Excellence"--a Pay For Performance (P4P) program developed to support and encourage providers' efforts to deliver excellent services to their members

Sprinkle With:

  • A tablespoon of "CMAG"--medication adherence guidelines developed by the Case Management Society of America

Mix well; bake for one year, and do a taste test.

In this didactic session, you will see examples of the actionable reports developed to assist providers in delivering care; learn the actual dollar investment (pmpm) by the plan and by the state; and see the results of these efforts. Join us and decide for yourself if Collaboration + P4P + CMAG is indeed a recipe for success!

Objectives:
  1. Identify three provider incentives used in the P4P program (Supporting Excellence).

  2. Determine what the ROI is for the Supporting Excellence Program.

  3. Identify four motivational inter-viewing techniques adopted into these programs from the medication adherence guidelines (CMAG).

  4. List the elements of a successful “actionable” provider report.
