Dr. Presley Reed presents a discussion of the most current disability durations and statistical trends for the top health conditions that are keeping the working population out of the work place. These new findings provide absence and disability case managers new insights into evidence-based, linkages between disability durations and workplace demographics, behavioral factors, as well as psychological factors. Disability duration and frequency shifts over the analyzed time periods demonstrate underlying demand trends affecting employer return to work and employee health strategies. These new insights for employers yield health management strategy directions based on the specific demographics of their workforces served and suggest new goals for enhancing workplace productivity.

Newly released evidence-based data from over six million cases compiled during the preparation of The Medical Disability Advisor provide a compelling overview of shifting trends. The new analyses show emerging disability durations and frequency trends providing a “call for new disability case management strategies” when meeting the requirements of what is now a documented divergence of claim patterns between workplace demographic and behavioral segments.
