Your participation in member development campaigns plays an important role in ensuring the vitality of the Society and the Case Management industry. Each time you recruit a new member or spread the word about case management you contribute to CMSA's growth, as well as strengthen the Society's position as the leader in the Case Management industry.

CMSA currently has over 10,000 members, and is continually growing. The stronger the Society the more opportunities it has to offer its members. With case management being so new to the industry, your voice and your efforts can help spread the word about the industry.

 INDIVIDUAL RECRUITING TIPS

Recruitment Packets are available below and through your local chapter. The campaign is designed to be simple, making it easier to follow and to track results.
  • Membership Recruitment Packets:
    • Packet includes:
    • Be sure to include your Name, City, and Chapter on all applications before dispersing.
    • Include information on local chapter activity and contacts in your packets. See chapter for more information.

     
  • CMSA tracks the New Members for each Recruiter from the area on the Recruitment Membership Application where the Recruiter adds their Name, City and Chapter.This will be the only way National Office can know that the member was recruited by you.
     
  • Recruiters will be highlighted on the website, The Chapter Dispatch, The Case Report, and more.
  
 INDIVIDUAL RECRUITING TIPS

Recruiting new members is an opportunity to share your enthusiasm and excitement with non-members. Sometimes just telling a friend or colleague about CMSA is all it takes to get started.

Inform your friend or colleague about the many benefits CMSA offers members. From the Educational Resource Library to discounts for conferences and publications, CMSA is the leading source for the Case Management Industry. Please be sure to tell first-hand how your CMSA membership has been a great investment for you and your career. If you are excited and informative, they will be more likely to join CMSA.

Use Recruitment Materials Provided by CMSA
  1. Pick up CMSA recruitment materials at a chapter meeting/event or download from the CMSA website.
  2. Code them with your Name, City, and State
  3. Give them to your peers at work, other organizations you work with, networking events and industry trade shows, etc.
Highlight Member Benefits
Make a list of specific benefits that are important to you and use these as talking points when you recruit. Visit the CMSA website often to familiarize yourself with all benefits available and the value of these benefits to members.

Offer to Provide a Testimonial
You can provide testimonials to your peers. Positive experiences shared by current members are one of the best ways to promote CMSA. Tell how CMSA has personally aided your own career, education, knowledge, contacts, etc...

Serve as a Volunteer
Volunteer for your chapter's membership table at events and meet potential members.

Give Presentations about CMSA
Offer to give a presentation about CMSA at your workplace to recruit individual members.

Take Credit for Your Efforts
Make sure that you put your name on application forms, or ask those you have recruited to include your name whether they use a paper form or sign up on the CMSA website.

Ask Your Company To Join
If you work for a healthcare company that is not already a CMSA member, offer information to your organization about Company Membership or Corporate Membership opportunities. Click here for more information on the . Don't forget to add "Recruited By: your Name, City and Chapter" to the top of the form before giving to your employer!

Contact Your Alma Mater
Contact your college or university alumni organization to find out if any recent graduates in your field might be interested in joining CMSA. Active students can also receive a discount on their National Dues!

Invite Colleagues to Events
Ask potential members if they would like more information on local events and CMSA benefits. Invite them to attend local chapter events.

Contact Vendors
Discuss the membership benefits of CMSA with your vendors and invite them to join!

Application / Web Address
If you have someone in mind you think would enjoy becoming a member, personally deliver a new member application for or provide them with the website address so they can view the benefits of becoming a CMSA member.

Encourage Recruitment
Serve as a contact for the new members you recruit and encourage them to recruit others.

Give Thanks
Be sure to send an email or hand-written note thanking them for considering CMSA membership and expressing gratitude/appreciation for their support of your professional organization, even if they do not join. But ask if you can inform them of future member-get-a-member campaigns.

 CONTEST RULES

Only current CMSA members may participate. All applications must be postmarked with payment by April 30, 2008. Applications must be endorsed with sponsor's name and/or membership number to qualify. CMSA staff are not eligible to win.
  • You must be a current CMSA member to participate in the campaign and to be eligible for prizes.
  • To receive credit, your Name, City and Chapter must be listed on the recruited member's application. Recruiters will only be awarded credit for completed and paid memberships.
  • Regular membership applications, make sure, as the Recruiter, your Name, City and Chapter are written on the application to get credit for this new member.
  • Online applicatons are acceptable.  Application must be followed up with an email to from the new member stating who recruited them.
  • Members recruited must be new members (eligible individuals are those who have not been members of CMSA in the past six months).
  • Each new member application must be postmarked by April 30, 2008.
  • Recruiter's membership must be current to be eligible to receive prizes.
  • All prizes will be distributed after April 30, 2008, following announcements of winners.
  • All prizes will be coordinated through the CMSA National Office and will be subject to limitations and availability. Prizes are not transferable. No cash prizes will be awarded.
  • The value of each prize will be reported to the IRS by CMSA and any taxes are the obligation of the winners.
  
 2008 CAMPAIGN INCENTIVES

  • Receive a complimentary CMSA Membership Pin for your first recruit.
  • Receive a $5 CMSA Coupon for each member you recruit. (Coupons can be applied toward CMSA products, membership or national conference registration). On new purchases and services only. Not applicable toward services or products already paid for or received. Not applicable to online purchases.
  • Recruit 5 or more members and receive ONE FREE YEAR of CMSA National Membership.
  • The Top Recruiter receives a complimentary Conference Registration to the 2008 Annual Conference in Orlando, FL.
