Little Rock, AR - The Case Management Society of America (CMSA) is pleased to announce that National Case Management Week will be celebrated across the country the second full week of October. This year, National Case Management Week will be recognized October 10-16.
CMSA joins a number of other national organizations, including the American Case Management Association (ACMA) and the Academy of Certified Case Managers (ACCM), in supporting National Case Management Week in an effort to unify case management professionals, educate the public about case management, and increase awareness and recognition of the significant contributions case managers make to quality healthcare for patients, healthcare providers, and payers.
A national effort to recognize case managers is vital to this growing field and its members as case management becomes increasingly recognized as a significant strategy across the continuum of care. National Case Management Week is an effective way to spotlight the invaluable roles and positive contributions of case management professionals around the country. As case management strives to support patients and their families as they navigate the healthcare system, it also decreases the fragmentation of services; encourages health team communication; and contributes significantly to patient safety, quality of life, and cost-efficient management of limited resources.
Begun by CMSA in 1999, National Case Management Week continues to grow in individual, corporate, and organizational participation. To encourage this growth, CMSA makes available promotional materials, including CM Week products, a CM Week Media Kit, and a Case Management Week Celebration & Promotion Guide designed to help CMSA members, other case managers, and related professionals plan and coordinate community, employer, organizational, and government activities.
