Little Rock, AR - (June 2004) - Sherry Aliotta, RN, BSN, CCM of Huntington Beach, CA, took office as the 14th President of the Case Management Society of America (CMSA), an international organization of over 8,000 members and the only non-profit 501 (c)(6), multi-disciplinary, professional association dedicated to the support and advancement of the case management profession. Aliotta took office at CMSA's annual conference, held June 15-19, in Nashville, TN.
Having served as a frontline case manager and Director of Case Management, Aliotta has 15-plus years' experience in the field, including home health, indemnity/self-insured, Medicare and Medicaid managed care, workers' compensation, hospital, and provider groups. As President and CEO of S.A. Squared, Inc., she serves as an independent consultant to clients throughout the country in the development and/or implementation of numerous case management programs.
"The evidence that is needed to truly demonstrate the value of case management is mounting," says Aliotta, "and the ability to measure creates the opportunity for growth and improvement. I feel we are on the crest of a great wave of case management growth and interest based upon our ability to demonstrate our value, and I believe we will be given a 'seat at the table' where serious healthcare system challenges are addressed.
