A flame represents the inception of something new, a sign that the perfect conditions have aligned to create light. But how does the flame maintain its resilience? The light will continue to burn bright only through a chain reaction- a pathway- whereby both internal and external forces unite to nurture its brilliance.
In June 2013, shine your light for case management at CMSA’s 23rd Annual Conference & Expo in New Orleans, LA. This multi-day journey is the sole health care event designed to deliver clinical, professional, regulatory and personal growth for the present and future of cross-continuum case management. Whether your case management light has been glowing for years, your flame is brand new or you would like to generate a spark, a spot is waiting for you in New Orleans.

Keynote Speakers
|
Jill Bolte Taylor
Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor is a trained and published neuroanatomist. Her specialty was in the postmortem investigation of the human brain as it relates to schizophrenia and severe mental illnesses. As irony would have it, on December 10, 1996, Dr. Taylor woke up to discover that she was experiencing a rare form of stroke, an arterio-venous malformation (AVM). Two and a half weeks later, on December 27, 1996, she underwent major brain surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) to remove a golf ball size blood clot that was placing pressure on the language centers in the left hemisphere of her brain. It took eight years for Dr. Taylor to successfully rebuild her brain–from the inside out. In response to the swelling and trauma of the stroke, which placed pressure on her dominant left hemisphere, the functions of her right hemisphere blossomed.
In February, 2008, Dr. Taylor gave a presentation at the prestigious TED Conference. The response to the video launched Dr. Taylor into becoming a highly sought-after public speaker. She was chosen by TIME Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2008, and was the premiere guest on Oprah's Soul Series web-cast. In addition, she was interviewed by Oprah and Dr. Mehmet Oz on The Oprah Winfrey Show in October, 2008.
She travels extensively as a keynoter at conferences around the world, and is having a wonderful time helping others learn more about their own brains and how to realize that peace really is just a thought away.
Carl A. Hammerschlag
Carl A. Hammerschlag is a master storyteller and internationally recognized author, physician, speaker, and healer. A Yale-trained psychiatrist, he has spent more than 20 years working with Native Americans; and is an expert on how to survive in rapidly changing cultures. Now one of the world’s leading proponents of Psychoneuroimmunology (mind-body-spirit medicine), he is a faculty member at the University of Arizona Medical School; and founder of the Turtle Island Project, a non-profit, multidisciplinary organization whose programs integrate the principles of mind/body/spirit medicine with Native American rituals and ceremonies.
In his presentations, Dr. Carl Hammerschlag brings his gift of storytelling, a wealth of legends, and unique insights which bridge the worlds of science, spirit, and culture. With poignancy and humor, he leads his audiences on a joyful journey that will stimulate and renew their creative potential.
Mike Rayburn
Mike uses his astounding guitar creations, uproarious songs, and veteran presentation skills to encourage, challenge and inspire his audiences to leap beyond their perceived limitations. Mike Rayburn is one of the youngest inductees ever into the Speaker Hall of Fame, he has headlined on the strip in Las Vegas, and is one of a handful of people in the world to become a regular headliner at Carnegie Hall, receiving standing ovations at all eight of his command performances. Not only is Mike a world-class guitarist and stand-up comedian, he is an authority on personal development and human potential. Mike performs for the world's leading corporations and associations, using his guitar and comedy to teach three simple, powerful tools attendees can use immediately and forever to access their unrealized potential, to look at old things in a new way, and to leap beyond their perceived limitations. |
