Nancy Skinner, RN-BC, CCM, became the fourth recipient of CMSA's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
Since beginning her career, Skinner says that it has been her mission to advance the practice and growth of case managers who work to carve a place for themselves in the medical profession. Elected CMSA's Vice President in 1995, Skinner became CMSA President the following year, and was the first chapter leader to pursue and obtain a proclamation from a state governor's office proclaiming Case Management Week. She has been active in CMSA at both the local and national level including serving as a National Officer of CMSA from 1995 to 2000 and 2004 to 2007. She has also assisted CMSA in developing programs that have advanced case management education, including primary authorship of 11 Case Management Resource Paths™. Skinner has also served on several case management advisory boards, including the Commission/URAC Case Management Advisory Committee, the Coalition to Prevent DVT, the MC Biologics Advisory Group, and the National Transitions of Care Coalition (NTOCC).
Throughout her career, Skinner has worked tirelessly to promote case management and to advance the causes of case managers across the United States and around the world.
