Recipients of the Award for Excellence in Adherence Management
Recent Award Recipient
The fourth annual Award of Excellence in Adherence Management (AEAM) was awarded to Sherry Aliotta, RN-BC, BSN, CCM, of Evansville, IN. The 2008 award was presented at CMSA’s 18th Annual Conference & Expo held June 17-20, in Orlando, Fla., to acknowledge Aliotta's role as a "beacon, lighting the way towards the goal of giving case managers outcomes to prove return-on-investment."
Aliotta, who is also President and CEO of her healthcare consulting firm, S.A. Squared Associates, Inc., was instrumental in bringing the concept of outcomes to CMSA, and since 1996, has orchestrated an impressive timeline of events, including her role in the initial Council for Case Management Accountability (CCMA) to develop a methodology that consistently measures the case management process and its impact across settings and populations with the goal of proving the value of case management.
She has continued her involvement with outcomes and CMAG, chairing the CMAG Business Unit, developing the Master Trainer concept, creating the template for disease-specific CMAGs, and co-authoring the Cardiometabolic Risk disease-specific CMAG. She also encouraged CMAG translation into French, Spanish, and Korean – thus developing an international adherence movement, and created additional opportunities with other funding sources by furthering the evolution of the concept of case management outcomes.
