Many health care professionals believe that their hard work will speak for itself, open doors, and provide opportunities for recognition and advancement. However, the competitive nature of our health care environment makes it essential for professionals to “make the right impression from the moment of their first impression,” and to stand out from the competition as a self-confident, positive, and engaging individual. This session is designed to inspire case managers to feel more motivated, energized, and passionate about who they are and what they do through personal development strategies, professional networking, and effective self-promotion. Case managers should develop an effective approach to self-promotion through the use of their individual resume, professional networking, and effective interview skills to get ahead in their your career.
This session will show attendees how to become conscious of their actions to better shape and communicate the message they want to convey to others, including peers, professional colleagues, leadership and/or potential employers. You will learn how to present yourself positively to everyone you meet, and leave behind a good impression to become THE candidate for the job that you want!
Objectives:
- Discuss two strategies for personal development and self-promotion.
- Describe two approaches to broaden the attendee's interpersonal network, and demonstrate a passion for their profession.
- Identify three key components for creating a professional resume that accurately reflects their accomplishments, skill sets, and persona.
