Imagine if your chapters were filled with motivated members like these. They can be! What makes it happen? -- Creating an exceptional member experience

In this workshop, we will explore what it takes to create the experience, and then apply this learning through a series of group exercises.

We will begin with a look at four key trends that can help us individually, and collectively create a CMSA community that will thrive. These trends address: 1) membership models; 2) volunteerism; 3) the new media and engagement, and 4) crowd-sourcing (yes, business is beating us at our own game!).

From there, we’ll look at the seven secrets we find within those trends, and share strategies for activating the secrets in your association. These secrets, like the four trends, draw heavily from association research in: The Decision To Join; The Decision To Volunteer; and 7 Measures of Success: What Remarkable Associations Do That Others Don't -- studies which give us a definitive body of knowledge about associations and our members. You will hear the critical highlights from these studies; and, more importantly, learn how to use the results in building your membership.

Objectives:
  1. Analyze four critical trends affecting associations, and learn how to begin a strategic conversation about them in your association.
  2. Examine, through association examples, five new concepts for reframing association communications.
  3. Identify strategies to increase membership acquisition and retention.
