Burnout is a real problem in our society today. Everyone seems to think that their job is too demanding, they don't have enough resources; and there is never enough time for work, family, and themselves.

The speaker will provide many practical tools to take a different look, from the inside out, at how folks spend their time. Examples of some:

There is NO SUCH THING as time management. We all have 168 hours per week. What we CAN manage is our CHOICES of how we spend our time; this is self-management.

There is NO SUCH THING as Balance; tell the parent of a newborn they should have more "balance." The fact is "balance" is used by others -- or worse ourselves -- to make you feel guilty about where you are spending your time. The fact is that your family wants you 100% of the time, your work expects you 100% of the time, and your friends and community work want you 100% of the time. You need to be INTENTIONAL with your time -- based on your values, and be PRESENT where you are.

You need to take care of YOURSELF in all four areas of your life: Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual -- better known as Body, Mind, Heart and Soul. The speaker will make the analogy using "filling stations" to relate that "You wouldn't try to run your car on empty," and that you MUST visit your Body, Mind, Heart and Soul filling stations regularly or you will personally "run out of gas," which leads to burnout.

Caregivers -- and the entire staff at a good home care agency -- have servant hearts. This leads to folks who sometimes give and give, emptying their cup, without refilling. Practical tips will be given to keep our cups FULL so that we can be of use to others AND to ourselves and loved ones.

The speaker is the President and CEO of a successful health care services company, yet serves the homeless weekly, is a Big Brother to an at-risk youth, and never misses family events.
