“Challenges of Our Ever Changing World” identifies the elements of health care’s changing environment, and of our own case management climate. It identifies all the challenges that case managers face, both acutely and chronically. This session describes the characteristics of a strategic change leader, and what is needed to become a transformational leader in our current health care system. Attendees will receive a change framework in order to be able to understand why we experience change, the way that we react, and how to handle the changes. The presentation offers examples how to apply these techniques or styles in their current leadership style, and is presented with a flare that keeps the audience enthralled. We discuss the need to evolve ourselves from case managers to case leaders. The audience will be able to see the difference between a manager and that of a leader.
Objectives:
- Describe, given the informational materials presented, three challenges case managers encounter in the current healthcare arena, as demonstrated through participatory feedback.
- Distinguish, given the informational materials presented, three contrasting characteristics between a Case Manager and a Case Leader, as related by participatory involvement.
- Develop, given the informational materials presented, a specific action objective that utilizes fun and laughter with intent to produce a positive change management behavior in his/her work environment, as evidenced by scribing an objective on the presentation.
