As the development of professional case management practice evolves, certification of case managers has become increasingly important for demonstrating practitioners’ knowledge level and quest for professionalism, as well as for meeting employment requirements. It has also allowed many case managers to have greater job flexibility, opportunities, and promotion. This course is designed to provide the practicing case manager with information to assist in preparing for "certification" in case management, with a particular focus on the Certified Case Manager (CCM) credential.

Course content is updated every four months, based on input from course attendees after they have taken the CCM exam. Faculty presenters possess years of experience in case management in various practice settings and locations to provide a broad, national perspective. This course is also appropriate for those seeking a basic case management course. A workshop manual will provide registered attendees with course material, as well as information and resources for self-study.

Objectives:
  1. Describe the process for the CCM credential.
  2. Explain the six essential knowledge areas for case management practice.
  3. Describe any individual additional study needs.
