Janet S. Coulter, RN, MSN, MS, CCM

Janet S. Coulter, RN, MSN, MS, CCM, has been an RN for over 34 years; and has earned her BSN and MSN, as well as a Master of Science in Adult Education. She taught nursing for 18 years, and then decided to change her focus.
Janet worked as an occupational nurse for a large company, and as a case manager for an Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Managed Care Organization. Next, she was a Care Counselor in an educational program and a Senior Medicare Oversight Consultant for a large insurance company. Currently, she is Director of Nursing at RETS College School of Nursing at Bohecher College in Cincinnati, OH.

She has published several articles in nursing journals, and is a member of the Southern Ohio Valley CMSA Chapter. Janet was on the Founding Committee of SOV CMSA, and has been very active in that local chapter. She has served on multiple committees at the local level including Nominating Committee, the Newsletter Committee, the Case Manager Leadership Award, and Case Manager of the Year/Case Manager Excellence in Service Award Committee, Chairperson of the CCM Prep Review Course sponsored by SOV CMSA and CCMI, and Chairperson of the Web Site Development Committee which won 2008 CMSA’s “Award of Excellence for use of Technology.” She is President-Elect of SOV CMSA.

Janet was a co-presenter with Cris Walter, RN, MS, CCM, at the 2007 CMSA Annual Chapter Leadership Workshop at the CMSA Conference 2007 (“Strengthening Educational Programming and Dealing with the CE Process”). She also presented a poster with Jane Fridrick, RN, BSN, CCM, at the CMSA Conference 2007 (“Addressing Medicare Part D Issues for Dual Eligible Beneficiaries”). In 2008, Janet presented a poster ("Case Management and Medication Therapy Management: Collaborating for Improved Client Outcomes") with Lisa Hettich, PharmD, CGP, and Barbara Mackey-Zeigler, BSN, RN, CCM. She also presented a Concurrent Session ("Facilitating Effective Transitions of Care: Bridging the Gaps") with Carol A. Durham, RN-BC, CCM, MHP, CCP. At the 2009 CMSA annual conference, Janet co-presented a poster with Barbara Mackey-Zeigler, BSN, RN, CCM (“Critical thinking: An Innovative Tool for Engaging Case Managers”). She recently was a Progressive Business Conference presenter (“How Case Managers can increase Patient Satisfaction and Reduce Costs”).
